| Well Child Services |
Preventive services including:
health history, physical assessment, hearing, vision, and
developmental screening, laboratory tests and immunization, health
education and age appropriate counseling. Referral and
follow-up as needed. Priority is given to infants, preschool
children and those entering kindergarten and sixth grade.
Services are provided in health centers, some schools and in the
home o infants at special risk. Provided for children with
Kentucky Medical Assistance benefits and those with low to
moderate income.

| Prenatal Program |
Physicians, nurses, nutritionists
and social workers provide complete or supplemental prenatal and perinatal
care. Childbirth education classes are offered to eligible
clients. Pregnant and parenting teens can benefit from the
Resource Mothers Program. Low and moderate income women are
eligible.

| Grief Counseling |
Counseling is available to parents
who have experienced miscarriage, stillbirth or an infant
death. Funds are available for an autopsy in some cases.

| WIC Program (Women,
Infants and Children) |
Supplemental food vouchers,
nutritional risk assessments and nutrition education for pregnant,
post-partum or breast feeding women as well as infants and
children under five. Must be income eligible and at
nutritional risk. Classes and individual assistance for
breast-feeding women.

| Family Planning |
Provide individuals (males and
females) with information and means to exercise choice in
determining the number and spacing of children. Physical
examinations, contraceptives, counseling and follow-up services
are available. Income-based sliding fee schedule.

Testing, education and counseling
aimed at a healthy pregnancy provided to all.

| Maternal Health Counseling |
Health risk appraisal and
counseling for women of child-bearing age in order to insure
healthy pregnancies.

Screening or follow-up for infants
tested in the hospital prior to 48 hours of age or as recommended
by private physician.

| Fluoride Supplement Program |
Testing of private water supplies
to determine the need for fluoride supplements for preschool
children. Fluoride supplements provided.

| Developmental
Disabilities Services |
Medical and psychological testing
by University of Louisville staff for infants and young children
up to age six. Quarterly outreach clinics with nursing
management for intake and follow-up.

| Genetic Counseling and Testing |
Available to all ages with a need
for genetic diagnosis and counseling. Nurses provide intake
and follow-up. Medical staff form University of Louisville
conduct outreach clinics quarterly.

| Automobile Safety Seats |
Assistance in
using the car seat properly and general seat belt education is
provided.
