Welcome to the Region One Medical Reserve Corps Information Center

Kentucky Region One Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) is a joint effort of the Purchase District and Marshall County Health Departments.  The MRC is also  supported by the Kentucky Department for Public Health, Kentucky Division for Emergency Management, the Kentucky Office of  Homeland Security and Area One Regional Citizens Corps Council.   The mission of the MRC is to establish local teams of volunteers to improve emergency preparedness.  Health care professionals and lay volunteers are needed to provide the extra help needed in times of emergency or disaster when the regular health care system cannot meet all the needs of the community.  Volunteering is easy and training is provided based on individual interest.  In many circumstances more lay volunteers are needed than health care professionals.  Our brochure describes volunteer opportunities and allows you to register even if you cannot attend training right now.

To sign up as a registered volunteer, simply click here and return the enrollment information.  You will be placed on a mailing list to receive notices of trainings.

To be a credentialed volunteer, attend a training session described in the Pre-Registration Form and provide the MRC with required credentialing information.  To receive nursing continuing education units, you must complete Part 1 and Part 2 of the training.  Part 1 may be taken on-line.  You will be mailed a packet of more detailed information if you submit a Pre-Registration Form.
